Italy has its charm of incredible culture and astonishing scenery drawing travelers from all over the world. Besides the landscape and culture, Italy has some of the most talked of dishes in the world. How better to enjoy the beauty and cuisine then by the water. Below are some of the famous Italian traditional dishes.

  1. Pizza

Historically, Pizza did not originate from Italy; rather it was first made by Ancient Greek. However, the first modern and commercial pizza was made by Italians in the 18th century. Anyway, the question is not where it originated from, but who makes it better? Italy has been known to make the best pizza with unique toppings. When you take a trip to Italy, make sure you order pizza Margherita from the local pizzeria, and you will understand what I’m talking about.

  1. Arancini

Arancini is basically stuffed rice balls. But it won’t taste like it when you finally have a bite. The rice, after being filled with ragu, mozzarella, peace and tomato sauce, is coated with crunchy breadcrumbs, then fried to produce a mouthwatering brown and crispy Arancini. It will be a disservice to yourself, living the country without having a taste of this.

  1. Lasagna

If we were to list baked dishes from Italy in order of most delicious, most favorite, most popular and of course most delicious, Lasagna would surely be among the top five. The oven-baked pasta is a product of pasta sheets, meat, cheese, and sauce. Some people would include vegetables, but the end product is the same. There are various versions of lasagna, there is the white version which does not require tomato sauce, and there is the vegetarian version where instead of meat, zucchini is used

  1. Bottarga

This is the most sought-after Italian food, maybe because of its mind-blowing deliciousness or because of the unique and rare cooking method used to make it. Talking of methods, this one will surprise you. Bottarga is made by salting and pressing roe mullets for six months to bring out an amber-colored delicious egg. Now, the method might get you thinking, which you shouldn’t because the taste of it is astonishing; even more astounding when grated over pasta. Some people, however, prefer drizzling its thin slices with olive oil and lemon juice.

  1. Risotto

Risotto is another of Italian boasts. I can’t blame them for it, and neither will you when you have a taste of it or just look at it because its appearance is as appealing as its taste. Risotto is prepared by coating then toasting the rice in butter. After this, the rice is cooked in either fish broth or meat broth. Also, take note not to use cream instead of butter.
